The "Les Elegides" project is possible thanks to the financial support and political commitment of the Consell de Mallorca. For this reason, the vice-president of the Consell de Mallorca and Minister of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, was in charge of presenting it at the round table "Les Elegides: promoting women's participation in local politics within the framework of decentralized cooperation". At this event, she was accompanied by the secretary general of ACOBOL and councilor of Trinidad (Bolivia), Elena Gutiérrez; the executive director of the Bolivian entity, Groover Sinka, and the technical manager of the project at the Fons Mallorquí, Vanesa Corrales.

The program, developed between Mallorca and developing countries such as Bolivia and Peru, is part of the strategic axis Gender Equality of the Fons Mallorquí and aims to increase the political participation of women in decision-making processes at the local level. Through leadership schools and networks of elected women, "Les Elegides" works to reduce the barriers that hinder their participation in politics and to promote a more inclusive democratic debate on gender issues.

During the awards ceremony, held within the framework of the World Forum for Local Economic Development in Seville, Vice President Antònia Roca highlighted the work of the Mallorcan Fund in the design and development of the project. She also highlighted the collaboration with Bolivian institutions to create a joint agenda for exchange and capacity building, which has led to new municipal regulations, workshops, meetings and specific actions to protect women's political rights.

The award ceremony was also attended by the Minister of the Presidency, Antoni Fuster, and the President of the Cooperation and Solidarity Fund, Llorenç Perelló, who highlighted that this recognition endorses the work of the Mallorcan Fund to consolidate "Les Elegides" as a transformative cooperation experience, focused on the active presence of women in politics and the strengthening of local leadership.

This international recognition consolidates "Les Elegides" as an initiative promoted by the Mallorcan Fund, which contributes to the strengthening of female leadership in the political sphere and the development of more inclusive local public policies.
